Elevate Your Grilling with Almond Wood Pellets: The Perfect Choice for Wood Barbecue

When it comes to achieving the ultimate wood-fired flavor in your BBQ, choosing the right wood pellets can make all the difference. Among the various options available, almond wood pellets have become a favorite for BBQ enthusiasts who value rich, complex flavors. Whether you’re grilling meat, fish, or vegetables, almond wood pellets offer a unique smoke profile that can enhance any dish. In this article, we’ll explore why almond wood pellets are an excellent choice for wood barbecue, how they compare to other wood types, and tips for getting the most out of your grilling experience.

Why Choose Almond Wood Pellets for BBQ?
Almond wood pellets are made from the wood of almond trees, which are widely grown in regions like California. These pellets are highly sought after for their balanced, mild flavor and long, even burn. If you’re looking for a wood pellet that can deliver a smooth, nutty smoke with a slightly sweet undertone, almond wood is an excellent choice.

Here are a few reasons why almond wood pellets are becoming a go-to for BBQ lovers:

1. Balanced Smoke Flavor
Unlike stronger woods like hickory or mesquite, almond wood provides a more subtle, balanced smoke. This makes it ideal for a variety of meats, including pork, chicken, and beef. The mild smoke flavor enhances the natural taste of the food without overpowering it.

2. Versatile Usage
One of the key benefits of almond wood pellets is their versatility. Whether you're slow-smoking a rack of ribs or grilling vegetables, almond wood complements various ingredients. It pairs particularly well with poultry, pork, and even seafood, giving you the flexibility to experiment with different dishes on your pellet grill.

3. Long and Efficient Burn
Almond wood is known for its dense composition, which results in a longer, more efficient burn compared to other wood types. This means you won’t have to refuel your grill as often, allowing for a more consistent cooking experience.

4. Environmentally Friendly
Many almond wood pellets are made from the byproducts of almond farming, making them an environmentally friendly choice. By using wood that would otherwise go to waste, almond wood pellets are a sustainable option for those who care about reducing their carbon footprint.

How Do Almond Wood Pellets Compare to Other Wood Types?
When it comes to wood barbecue, there are a variety of wood pellets available, each with its own distinct flavor profile. Here’s how almond wood stacks up against some of the more popular options:

1. Almond Wood vs. Hickory
Hickory is known for its bold, bacon-like smoke that pairs well with red meats like beef and pork. While hickory provides a stronger smoke, almond wood offers a milder, more subtle flavor. If you’re looking for a wood pellet that won’t overpower the taste of your food, almond wood is the better choice.

2. Almond Wood vs. Applewood
Applewood pellets are often used for their sweet, fruity smoke. Like applewood, almond wood provides a slightly sweet undertone, but it has a more nutty, complex flavor. Both are excellent for pork and poultry, but almond wood offers a bit more depth in its smoke.

3. Almond Wood vs. Mesquite
Mesquite pellets produce a very intense, earthy smoke that can sometimes be overwhelming. Almond wood, on the other hand, offers a smoother, more balanced flavor that works well for a wider range of meats. If you’re grilling delicate cuts like chicken or seafood, almond wood is a much better option than mesquite.

4. Almond Wood vs. Oak
Oak pellets provide a medium smoke flavor that’s neither too mild nor too strong, making them an all-purpose option for many grillers. While oak is versatile, almond wood has the edge when it comes to adding a unique, nutty flavor that you won’t get from oak pellets.

Benefits of Using Almond Wood Pellets for Wood Barbecue
Using almond wood pellets offers a number of benefits for those looking to achieve that perfect smoky BBQ flavor. Here are some of the top advantages:

1. Unique Flavor Profile
The nutty, mild smoke of almond wood is unlike any other. It adds a subtle complexity to your BBQ, making it a favorite for pitmasters who want to enhance, rather than mask, the flavor of their food.

2. Clean Burning
Almond wood pellets are known for their clean burn, which means less ash and residue left behind in your grill. This not only makes cleanup easier but also ensures a smoother, more consistent cooking experience.

3. Healthier Choice
Because almond wood pellets are typically made from 100% pure wood without fillers or additives, they offer a healthier alternative to other fuel types. You can enjoy the rich flavors of a wood-fired BBQ without worrying about any harmful chemicals affecting the taste or safety of your food.

4. Improved Temperature Control
Pellet grills rely on consistent heat for optimal cooking, and almond wood pellets deliver just that. Their dense composition ensures a steady burn, making it easier to maintain the perfect temperature for long, slow cooks or quick grilling sessions.

How to Get the Most Out of Your Almond Wood Pellets
To maximize the benefits of almond wood pellets in your pellet grill, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

1. Store Pellets Properly
Wood pellets can absorb moisture from the air, which can negatively affect their burn and flavor. Be sure to store your almond wood pellets in a cool, dry place to prevent them from getting damp.

2. Experiment with Blends
While almond wood pellets are great on their own, you can also experiment by blending them with other wood types. Try mixing almond with hickory or applewood for a customized smoke flavor that complements different meats and dishes.

3. Monitor the Temperature
Almond wood burns efficiently, so it’s essential to monitor the temperature of your grill to avoid overcooking. Use a reliable meat thermometer and keep an eye on the grill’s temperature to ensure that your food comes out perfectly cooked.

Conclusion
For BBQ lovers looking to take their grilling to the next level, almond wood pellets are an exceptional choice. Their balanced, nutty flavor enhances the natural taste of your food, while their long, clean burn ensures consistent results every time. Whether you're grilling meat, fish, or vegetables, almond wood pellets offer the versatility and flavor that make every meal a wood barbecue masterpiece. With their sustainable production and rich taste, almond wood pellets should be your go-to choice for a superior grilling experience.

Enhance Your Grilling Experience with the Best Wood Pellets for Pellet Grills

Wood pellet grilling has become increasingly popular among BBQ enthusiasts, and it's easy to see why. The key to achieving that smoky flavor and perfectly cooked meats lies in the quality of your wood pellets. When it comes to selecting the best wood pellets for pellet grills, knowing what to look for is essential. Whether you're a weekend warrior or a seasoned pitmaster, choosing the right wood pellets can elevate your grilling game. Let's dive into why wood pellets are essential, the types available, and how to select the perfect ones for your pellet grill.

What Are Wood Pellets?
Wood pellets are small, compressed pieces of hardwood that are used as fuel in pellet grills. These pellets are typically made from natural wood sources, without any added chemicals or fillers, ensuring a clean burn and pure smoke flavor. High-quality pellets are a critical component of pellet grilling because they provide consistent heat, minimize ash production, and enhance the flavor of your food.

Why Choose Wood Pellets for Pellet Grills?
Using wood pellets for pellet grills is the best way to achieve that authentic smoky flavor. Unlike traditional charcoal or gas grilling, pellet grills give you more control over the temperature, smoke levels, and cooking speed. The pellets also impart a unique wood-fired flavor to your food, something that is hard to replicate with other fuel types.

Types of Wood Pellets for Pellet Grills
There is a wide variety of wood pellets available, each imparting a unique flavor to the food you’re grilling. The following are the most popular types:

1. Hickory Pellets
Hickory is one of the most common wood pellets used in grilling. It produces a robust, bacon-like flavor and pairs well with red meats like beef, pork, and ribs. Hickory is perfect for BBQ enthusiasts who enjoy a bold, smoky flavor.

2. Mesquite Pellets
Mesquite is another popular option, known for its intense smoky flavor. It’s ideal for grilling hearty meats such as brisket and chicken. However, mesquite can be overpowering for some, so it's best used sparingly or mixed with other pellet types for balance.

3. Applewood Pellets
If you’re looking for a sweet, mild smoke flavor, applewood is an excellent choice. These pellets are ideal for poultry, pork, and fish. The subtle sweetness of applewood enhances the natural flavors of lighter meats without overwhelming them.

4. Cherry Pellets
Cherry pellets are known for producing a rich, fruity smoke that gives your food a beautiful mahogany color. This type of pellet is versatile and pairs well with various meats, especially pork, poultry, and even some vegetables.

5. Oak Pellets
Oak provides a medium smoke flavor that’s less intense than hickory but still impactful. It’s a great all-purpose pellet that works well with most meats and vegetables, offering a consistent burn and good heat output.

6. Maple Pellets
Maple pellets have a mild, sweet flavor that enhances the taste of lighter meats such as chicken and pork. It’s also a fantastic option for grilling vegetables, adding a subtle sweetness that complements savory dishes.

Factors to Consider When Choosing the Best Wood Pellets
Now that you’re familiar with the different types of wood pellets, it’s important to know what makes a pellet the best for your pellet grill. Here are a few key factors to consider:

1. Wood Type
Different wood types produce varying flavors, so consider the kind of meat or food you’ll be grilling. Hickory and mesquite are great for bold flavors, while fruit woods like apple and cherry provide sweeter, milder smoke.

2. Purity
Always choose pellets made from 100% natural hardwood without any fillers, binders, or additives. Pure wood pellets burn cleaner, produce less ash, and enhance the natural flavor of your food.

3. Moisture Content
High-quality pellets should have a low moisture content, ideally around 5-10%. This ensures that they burn efficiently and consistently. Pellets with too much moisture can result in uneven cooking and excess ash.

4. Size and Density
Look for pellets that are consistent in size and density. Uneven pellets can lead to inconsistent burning and temperature fluctuations. High-density pellets burn longer and provide more heat.

5. Ash Production
Some pellets produce more ash than others, which can affect the performance of your pellet grill. Low-ash pellets are preferred because they require less frequent cleaning and allow your grill to run smoothly.

Benefits of Using High-Quality Wood Pellets
1. Better Flavor
High-quality wood pellets offer superior flavor compared to lower-grade options. When made from pure hardwood, they provide a clean, rich smoke that enhances the taste of your food without the bitter aftertaste of inferior pellets.

2. Consistent Heat
Premium pellets burn consistently, providing stable temperatures for hours. This allows you to maintain precise control over your cooking, ensuring your food is cooked evenly and to perfection.

3. Clean Burning
Using pure wood pellets ensures a clean burn with minimal ash production. This reduces the need for frequent grill maintenance and allows you to focus more on grilling than cleaning.

Conclusion
Selecting the best wood pellets for your pellet grill can significantly improve your BBQ experience. From bold hickory to sweet applewood, there’s a wood pellet out there to match every grilling style and preference. When shopping for wood pellets, prioritize quality over price. Choosing 100% natural hardwood pellets will guarantee better flavor, consistent heat, and a cleaner burn. With the right pellets, you’ll be able to unlock the full potential of your pellet grill, creating mouthwatering dishes that your friends and family will love.

Now that you know what to look for, it’s time to fire up your grill and experiment with different wood pellet flavors to discover your perfect combination! Happy grilling!

The Perks of Using a Barbecue Pellet Grill

There’s nothing quite like the aroma of barbecue wafting through the air on a warm summer night. For many grill enthusiasts, achieving that perfect balance of smoky flavor and tender, juicy meat is the zenith of the grilling experience. While traditionalists may swear by charcoal or wood chips, the right barbecue pellet can offer a convenient and efficient alternative that can take your grilling experience to the next level. Barbecue pellets are small, cylindrical pieces of compressed hardwood sawdust, typically sourced from varieties like oak, hickory, cherry, or mesquite. Unlike traditional wood chips or chunks, pellets from Knotty Wood are uniform in size and density, ensuring consistent heat and smoke distribution throughout the grilling process.

Convenience is one of the primary advantages of barbecue pellets. They’re easy to store, measure, and use, making them an ideal choice for both novice and experienced grillers. Additionally, barbecue pellets burn cleanly and efficiently, producing minimal ash and allowing for hassle-free cleanup after each grilling session. Read on to learn more about some of the benefits of using grilling pellets.

How to Use a Barbecue Pellet
Using barbecue pellets on your grill is a straightforward process that requires minimal setup. Begin by preheating your grill to the desired temperature, then add a handful of barbecue pellets to the pellet hopper or smoker box. Once the pellets start to smolder, place your food on the grill grates and let the magic happen.

When choosing the right pellets, consider the flavor profile of the wood pellets and how it complements the ingredients you’re grilling. For example, hickory pellets pair well with beef and pork, while fruitwoods like cherry or apple add a subtle sweetness to poultry and seafood.

Make sure you control the temperature on your grill. Adjust the temperature of your grill to achieve the desired level of heat for your cooking needs. Most pellet grills feature adjustable temperature settings, allowing you to fine-tune the heat to perfection. You also want to monitor pellet consumption. Be sure to keep an eye on the pellet hopper to ensure a steady supply of pellets throughout the grilling process. Running out of pellets mid-cook can result in uneven cooking and a loss of flavor.

One of the key benefits of using barbecue pellets is the rich, smoky flavor they impart to grilled dishes. Experiment with different wood varieties to discover unique flavor combinations and enhance the natural taste of your favorite ingredients. Whether you’re smoking ribs, grilling vegetables, or searing steaks, barbecue pellets can elevate your culinary creations to new heights.

Knowing the Different Grilling Pellets

For the hardcore grill enthusiasts out there, it’s always grilling season. Rain or shine, warm weather or snow, you may be the type to get out there and smoke or grill meat regardless of the conditions. If you are a true barbecue aficionado, you also probably put a lot of thought into what you are grilling or smoking, as well as how you go about doing it. For some, this means investing in top-of-the-line grill equipment, or buying restaurant-grade smokers. You may also be discerning about where you get your meat, selecting a butcher who offers top-grade cuts and locally sourced products. One item you may also want to consider are your grilling pellets. If you have used wood pellets for grilling before, you may be aware that they can come in a wide range of different varieties. At Knotty Wood Barbecue Company, we can help you pair the right pellets with whatever you have on the menu.

If you are relatively new to using grill pellets, you may be curious about why you would use them over propane or charcoal. Well, for one, they produce a lot less ash than charcoal, making clean-up a lot easier. You also burn a bit more evenly. With wood pellets, you can also get a more aromatic flavor to the food you are preparing via the smoke they produce. Propane, while clean burning, does not really do much to enhance the flavor profile of your food.

The Advantage of Using Grilling Pellets
One of the great things about using grill pellets is that they come in a broad range of seasonings. This means you can pair just the right type of pellet with the meat you are preparing. A hardwood like hickory will hold its heat well and add a bold, smoky flavor to what you’ve got on the grill. Cherrywood or applewood provide a fruity, sweet taste that can go great with pork. How to Find the Best Pellets for Ribs

It’s tough to beat an afternoon outside spent on the grill. If your favorite pastime happens to be smoking or cooking meats, your friends and family are probably grateful to sample your work. Of course, if you consider yourself something of a grillmaster, you take a certain amount of pride in the meals you prepare. This can mean shopping around for the best, high-quality cuts of meat, using a grill you can trust, and cooking with top-grade wood pellets. As you probably already know, grilling with wood pellets comes with some useful advantages, but as they come in different varieties, you may want to know which pellets pair best with certain types of meat. Finding the best pellets for ribs, for example, may require a bit of research. Fortunately, at Knotty Wood Barbecue Company, we have got you covered. Read on to learn more.

There is a simplicity to grilling that can explain some of its appeal. When you get down to it, you are simply cooking meat or vegetables over an open flame. By that frame of thinking, it may seem like it would be hard to mess up cooking something on the grill. Like any food preparation task, though, grilling calls for a bit of technique and practice. Trial and error can be an essential part of mastering any recipe, and grilling is really no exception here. You should not be afraid to experiment with different types of wood pellets when cooking or smoking ribs (or anything else, for that matter). It may be useful to know, however, what different types of pellets can do to the flavor profile of your food.

The Best Pellets for Ribs: Know Your Options

Before you throw a rack of ribs on the grill, you should determine which wood pellets are going to produce the most succulent end result. You can go with hickory wood pellets, which will create a hearty, smoky flavor. Hickory is pretty close to what you can think of as a “traditional” barbecue taste. Applewood can create for a sweeter tasting meat, due to its fruitiness. Applewood is typically not too overpowering, either. Cherrywood can give you a similar sweetness, and it will also give your ribs a reddish hue.

Pecan wood can give you a flavor similar to hickory, but it’s slightly sweeter and imparts a light, nutty taste. If you are looking for something sweeter, you can always go with a maple wood pellet. Mesquite wood can be bold, so you may want to pair it with beef ribs instead of pork, as it may overwhelm pork’s natural flavor. Oak is also fairly reliable as a more neutral option, plus it is very dense so it burns evenly.

Wood Barbecue Recipe for the Hale & Hearty: Ultimate Meat Lover’s Stuffing

As the temperatures get colder, have you been looking for a pellet grill recipe that will keep you warm all day (and maybe night) long? Do you want to get more protein in your diet? Protein is one of the fundamental building blocks of health. We’ve got a recipe on our site for the (aptly named) “Ultimate Meat Lover’s Stuffing.” It’ll give you all the protein you need and then some, plus it’s delicious to boot. Of course, like so much else, it tastes better with our wood barbecue pellets.

You Can Make the Ingredients Yourself (But Don’t Have to)
If you watched our video, you’ll see that, when we made this stuff, we made just about everything we could ourselves. That includes the croutons, the cubed French bread, etc. However, you can go and just purchase all of this yourself. There’s enough work involved with making the recipe that you shouldn’t feel like you need to make all this stuff yourself. This is a recipe that can serve plenty of folks, yes, but it makes sense to cook it in such a way that serves you.

Deserving the Name
You may have read the name “The Ultimate Meat Lovers Stuffing” and thought to yourself some version of: “that sounds like an exaggeration.” It isn’t. If anything, it might be an understatement. One pound of ground beef. Four hat Brand Beef Jalapeno Cheddar Beef Bratwurst. A package of bacon. That’s a lot of meat, yes.

But, perhaps amazingly, it’s not the end of the protein. Additionally, there’s a stick of butter, two eggs, and turkey/chicken broth. This is the stuffing that the rest of the stuffing you eat in your life will be judged against.

What to Keep in Mind
Sure, we posted this for Thanksgiving, but you can eat it just about any night when you want to get as much protein as possible. On the subject of “as much protein as possible,” for some of you who are looking to maximize your protein intake, you might think to eschew the garlic cloves, the celery stalks, etc. Don’t. Those are important to the taste, the flavoring, how it cooks, and so forth.

Even something as small as the parsley can make a big difference, even if it’s just in terms of how it looks on the table. All of that combines to make for a better stuffing.

Wood Barbecue Pellets for Winter and Beyond
Speaking of “what makes for a better stuffing,” our pellets. For this specific recipe, we recommend our Knotty Wood Almond Cabernet Wine Blend” pellets. Each of our pellets pairs well with one recipe or another, and these happen to be the perfect compliment for this, the ultimate in meat lover’s stuffing.

You can get our pellets in more places than ever. Sure, you can buy them from us, but you can also find them at Lowe’s and The Home Depot here. Bon appetit!

Making Bread (Yes, Bread) With Your Smokehouse Pellets Grill

Do you want special bread for the holiday? Are you looking for the kind of bread that’s going to have other folks saying: “Hey, um, can you tell me where you bought that bread?” If so, you can make Sheepherder’s Bread with our recipe. Yes, we don’t just offer smokehouse pellets, we have plenty of great recipes, too. You can follow along with our video here.

First Things First
Sugar. Salt. Flour. Water. Active dry yeast. That’s all you need to do this. (And, of course, the right pellets and a pellet grill).

Get the yeast going. You don’t want your bread to have it not rise, so get some water in there. A scoop of salt, scoop of sugar, with a regular old tablespoon – you can make great food from just regular items.

Speaking of the water, you’re going to want to have your water warm. Keep it warm. You’ll note we said “warm.” We didn’t say hot. You don’t want hot water because it’ll kill the yeast. Warm water will activate the yeast.

The Difference With Sheepherder’s Bread
Remember, this isn’t like other kinds of bread. It’s Sheepherder’s bread. As such, you don’t need to measure out the flour. Rather, just eyeball it. Dump a bunch in there. In our video, we basically do about 40 ounces. Add the salt, add the sugar, and mix it well with a whisker.

How Can I Tell If the Yeast is Active?
Simple: by when it’s bubbling. While you’ve been doing the step mentioned in the last section, the yeast probably started bubbling. You may want to add just a tick more water. Then put it all together. Adding more water is OK.

Homemade Bread
Then, mix it all up. Speaking of mixing it, wash your hands. Why? Because, well, if you’re following the amounts listed on our site here, you’re going to be making a lot of this so you’re going to want to mix it all with your hands. Get in there. Truthfully, doing so can be quite a bit of fun. Work the dough around.

Get It Consolidated
Once you’ve roughed up all the edges and gotten it consolidated, take some more flour and then shake it all over your table for kneading. Then, knead that dough. Once you’ve done that, knead that dough. If you believe that you’ve done enough kneading of the dough, then it’s time to knead that dough. This is where the real work comes in.

Smokehouse Pellets for Great Recipes All Year Long
This takes a while to cook, usually multiple hours. Of course, during that time, you can check out many of the other recipes that we have on our site. To get the best in grilling no matter what time of year it is, you can buy our pellets.

New Grilling Pellets and New Ways to Enjoy Them

Are you looking for some new recipes to use for your pellet grill? Have you been seeking out the highest-quality grilling pellets? Here at Knotty Wood, we recently unveiled perhaps our best pellets yet, the “Competition” blend. Exactly what it sounds like, this is a blend of our Almond Wood and our Plum Wood for our most balanced flavor. All of our pellets go with certain dishes. These are some of the dishes that go with our newest flavors.

Hot Honey Wings-Grilled Hot Honey Wings Recipe
We don’t believe that, when it comes to wings, you should have to choose between “sweet” and “spicy.” So, this recipe makes for the best of both worlds here, too. The two to three tablespoons of our Knotty Wood Honey will give these wings plenty of delicious, sweet honey flavor.

To make sure that the “hot” part comes true, the recipe calls for curry, Cayenne pepper, black pepper, and a half cup of our Knotty Rub. With all of that, these wings bring a delicious kind of sweet heat.

Some tips here to keep in mind: you’re going to want to place the wings (once they’ve been cut and seasoned) directly onto the grill grates themselves. And, of course, you’re going to want to use our Plummond Competition Blend Pellets, too.

Sweet and Spicy Short Ribs
Wings, of course, aren’t the only dish that can be as sweet as it is spicy. Case in point, our “Sweet and Spicy Short Ribs” go long on taste. The sweet jalapenos go a long way towards making that happen, of course, as does the quartered medium onion, the half cup of Knotty Rub, and the freshly ground black pepper. Our Plummond Competition pellets, as they do with so many other dishes, bring a balanced flavor.

This is one of our more popular recent dishes for many reasons, not the least of which is that it’s so easy to make. Sure, it’ll take about five hours, but it’s low impact and easy to make. This is perfect for when you know you have a big dinner coming but also a busy day of work.

Steak Bites that Go Beyond
In addition to our Plummond Competition Blend Pellets, we also recommend that you use the original Bachan’s Japanese Barbecue Sauce for these. Unlike some of the other recipes that we’ve mentioned here, these can be cooked quickly. This is a short recipe. If you have an event, for example, and more folks than you thought, come, this is a great way to cook something delicious in a hurry.

Grilling Pellets for Every Dish
These are just some of the recipes that our Plummond Competition Blend pellets make better. There are many, many others. You can find a lengthy list on our site. By that same token, you can find our pellets at our site, yes, but you can also find them through Lowe’s and The Home Depot as well.

Perhaps Our Best BBQ Pellets Yet

Have you been looking for a higher caliber of BBQ pellet? Do you want the highest quality BBQ pellet for your grill? Here at Knotty Wood, we’ve been making pellets for a long time now. In that time, we’ve been grateful to hear from so many of our satisfied customers about what they want. Now, we’re proud to offer what we believe are our best BBQ pellets yet: our Competition Blend.

You Wanted Them, We Made Them
In the past, we offered just Almond Wood and Plum Wood pellets. We were so glad to see these embraced by our customers. Yet, one thing that customers would ask is for a combination, a way to blend the flavor profiles. That’s just part of what this blend is meant to be.

When we sat down to make these pellets, we wanted them to be the best combination possible. So, we didn’t release them until they were the right blend of the Almond’s mild, nutty flavor and the Plum’s light sweetness. Together, they give your grilling a real balance, a true best of both worlds.

For Professionals, for Your Table
You can call these the “Plummond” pellets (as they’re a mix of “Plum” and “Almond”), but, you can also see that they’re called “Competition” pellets, too. That’s because these are the pellets used by those who compete in grilling competitions.

In those kinds of contests, every detail matters. Professionals have to do everything that they can to give themselves an advantage. Hence, they have to use the best possible pellets. Which, of course, is exactly what we made these to be.

That said, you don’t have to be in the midst of a competition to use these pellets for your grilling, of course. They’re just as good for your friend, family, and you as they would be for any judge.

What They (Don’t) Have
We’ve told you what these pellets contain, but it’s also important to cover what they don’t have, too. Specifically, they don’t have any additives, substitutes, oils, filters, or all of the other nonsense that some companies will put into their pellets to make it seem like they’re offering more than they are.

The truth is that the wood pellet industry is entirely unregulated. As such, companies can sell pellets containing floor scraps, waste wood with unknown origins, You’ll never find any of that with our pellets. Not in the slightest. Ours are 100% pure and natural.

Best BBQ Pellets for Your Dish
There are plenty of recipes where the best pellets are, of course, going to be these Competition Plummond ones. But, we understand that all tastes are different, some recipes require different kinds of pellets. That is why we offer all of our different pellets (in addition to the rub).

You can find them through our site or through the site for The Home Depot and Lowe’s.

Smokehouse Pellets Tailgating Advice: Win Before the Game Starts

Do you want to have the best tailgate ever? With everything on the line in the big game, do you want to be able to serve the biggest and best feast? Whether you’re tailgating the conference championship game or the big game in the backyard, you can use your pellet grill to make some of the best gameday (or any other day) dishes around. Below are some of our tips for making your tailgate a winner, regardless of what happens on the field. As always, the winning play is to use our smokehouse pellets to take your tailgate to a higher level.

Go In With a Plan
Tailgating is the kind of thing that, no matter how many times you do it, it helps to be prepared. The more you can plan the menu ahead of time, the better. In fact, many of the most experienced tailgate folks prep the meat the night before (if not multiple nights before).

Even if you have tables, chairs, utensils, and the like, most folks are going to stand around eating. Thus, you give yourself the best chance at success by cooking the kinds of foods that people can eat with their hands, without having to use a knife and fork. Wings. Salsa. Steak bites. And so forth. You can find plenty of great recipes at proven tailgate performing recipes at our site.

“A Game of Attrition” – Have More Than You Need
One of the oldest football cliches is that it’s “a game of attrition.” Players get hurt, bad things happen, and you can lose the resources you have at any time. That can happen with tailgating, too, so it makes sense to bring a bit more than you need.

You never know when folks (even folks you know) are going to walk off with plates, utensils, even chairs. The more disposable implements you can use, the better.

The same goes for your wood pellets when you’re cooking, too. This is still winter. As such, it may require more wood pellets to get your pellet grill as hot as you want. Act accordingly.

First On the Field and Last Off Of It
Tailgating can be an absolute blast. No matter whether your team wins or loses, tailgating can make the kinds of memories that last a lifetime. To really do it right, some of the best tailgaters get to the parking lot (or wherever the spot is) hours before the game, sometimes three to four hours.

That way, they can get everything set up, they can make sure nothing is rushed, they can really enjoy every aspect of it.

Smokehouse Pellets for Every Season
To really enjoy every aspect of your food, our pellets are here to help. We have pellets to fit just about every recipe you could want, whether it’s before the game, after the game, or any other time of year. You can get our pellets through our site, or through Lowe’s and The Home Depot.
